After the success of Amazon’s home assistant Alexa, the company was reported to bring two new tablets that will carry the AI feature. The tablets identified to be the Amazon Fire 7 and Fire HD 8 were said to have improved specs and more features along with a low price.

According to The Inquirer, the new tablets introduced by Amazon were Amazon Fire 7 and Fire HD 8. The Amazon Fire 7 is identified to have a 7-inch IPS display along with 8GB and 16GB storage options, which is still expandable up to 256GB more storage. The color options for both the tablets were then identified to be Black, Marine Blue, Punch Red and Canary Yellow.

On the other hand, the Amazon new Fire HD 8 tablet was unveiled to sport an 8-inch screen. The inside was said to run a quad-core processor along with 16GB of storage, which is expandable up to 256GB via MicroSD card. The Fire 7 tablet was mentioned to have an extra hour of battery life compared to the Fire HD 8’s 12 hours of battery life.

"We think customers should expect more from their tablet - better hardware, more features, access to tons of great content - but shouldn't have to pay a premium for it. Our approach is to offer premium products at non-premium prices,” general manager of Fire tablets including Fire 7 and Fire HD 8 at Amazon, Kevin Keith stated.

Aside from that, Amazon’s Fire 7 was mentioned to have the low cost of £49.99 while the Amazon Fire HD 8 costs cheaper for around £79.99. However, the key feature that enticed customers is that both the tablets were described to be equipped with the Amazon’s virtual home assistant, Alexa.

The Amazon Fire 7 and Fire HD 8 were revealed to be already on sale in U.K. already. However, the function of Alexa in both of the tablets was instructed to be accessed through holding down the tablets’ Home button similar to how Siri and Google Assistant are used in mobiles and tablets as reported by Forbes.

Nonetheless, the Kid’s Edition of the Amazon Fire 7 and Fire HD 8 was identified to cost £99.99 and £129.99, respectively. Yet, the Kid’s Edition of both the Alexa-equipped tablets was described to have the special addition of two-year warranty, protective case and a free year subscription to Amazon Fire for Kids Unlimited which has downloadable children’s games, apps, movies, and books.
