Samsung Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus gathered a big accolade from a reputable product review organization. Both devices were named as the top two smartphones today according to Consumer Reports. The testing publication company points out the features that make both devices stood out with other smartphones in the market.

Since last year, both the Samsung Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus have been the much-anticipated device in the market. Dubbed as "Project Dream" by Samsung, both devices were launched last April at the same time and just as expected was a big hit in the market. This is not surprising as both devices carry the most powerful features that a handset could offer.

Now, both devices are being recognized by a nonprofit organization that provides unbiased product ratings and reviews. According to Consumer Reports, both the Samsung Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus top the list in the smartphone ratings that they have conducted. The Galaxy S8 Plus placed first followed closely at second by the Galaxy S8.

Consumer Reports made their ranking based on Samsung Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus three striking elements: awesome display design, long battery life and its camera feature. The bezel-less design on the sides made both devices stylish and sophisticated gadgets. They also describe both devices as minimalist, modern, and elegant with a design that can allocate bigger screen.

Consumer Reports also points out the long battery life of the Samsung Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus as its advantage, claiming that the S8 could last 23 hours while the S8 Plus hit 26 hours of talk-time test. Furthermore, the superb quality of its camera is producing stunning photos because of the camera's capability to reduce its over-sharpening aspect and helping it rate well.

With Samsung Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus occupying the top two spot, it pushes last year's Galaxy S7 Edge to third place according to Android Authority. Placing at the number four spot is the LG G6 handset while rounding out the top five is the iPhone 7 Plus.

The latest Consumer Reports ranking (top three spots are being occupied by Samsung devices) goes to shows the quality of handset that the South Korean tech company have produced the past years. However, Consumer Reports also took notice of the awkward position of the fingerprint scanner for the Samsung Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus but it appears that it doesn't affect its ranking.
