Samsung has started sending out the invitations for its "Unpacked" event in New York City, where the company will announce the Galaxy Note 8. The invitation reveals two slim top and bottom bezels of the upcoming Note 8 with no edges that indicate the 2:1 Infinity Display as the one on the Galaxy S8.
With the invites, Samsung has officially confirmed that its next major smartphone launch will take place next month. However, in the last year's same Unpacked event, Samsung had launched Galaxy Note 7, which is the now infamous smartphone that had to be recalled twice after models started exploding.
This year's Unpacked event poster has the tagline: "Do bigger things". It also teases a large display, similar to the one that features on the Samsung Galaxy S8, and a stylus, that is the Note line's hallmark. The South Korean tech giant hasn't yet revealed the phone's launch date, but it will possibly hit the shelves in early September, which is just before the release of iPhones 8, as reported by Independent.
The upcoming Galaxy Note 8 is said to have pretty much the same internal hardware as the current flagships Galaxy S8 and S8+. The Note 8 is rumored to boast Snapdragon 835 chipset in the US or an Exynos 8895 CPU with 4GB of RAM, and a fully water-resistant metal and glass unibody design. However, the USP of the Phablet is that the Note 8 may have a dual-camera setup, even though it's still entirely possible that Samsung will save that for the Galaxy S9 too, as reported by GSM Arena.
According to the previous renders the phone is said to feature an Infinity Display, an iris-scanner, a front-camera, a LED and a light sensor. On the back side, the Galaxy Note 8 is said to have a heart-rate sensor and a fingerprint sensor below the dual camera set up. The device is also said to sports a dedicated Bixby button.
