The Android 7.0 Nougat update for the LG G4 smartphone is now available. Right now, the availability is only limited to the company's home country, that is South Korea. Also, the Android 7.0 Nougat is only accessible through the LG Bridge app; there is no Over The Air roll out.
LG Bridge app can be downloaded via LG's Korean download portal and XDA Developers has the downloadable KDZ images of the. However, those files are currently only available for F500S, F500L, or F500K models of LG G4. The user can use these images to carry out the manual installation of the Android 7.0 Nougat update, reported by GSM Arena.
It might be recalled that AT&T told that, "There are no plans to update the LG G4 to Android Nougat." Considering the age of the LG G4 and the fact that Nougat has now been out for 331 days, it's not incredibly likely that American carriers will bother going where LG dares to tread on its home turf. However, on the positive note, T-Mobile just released the Nougat update for the V10, which is just two months after it landed in South Korea, as reported by Android Authority.
Since the Android 7.0 Nougat update has only just started hitting LG G4 units in South Korea, so there is no information on the exact size of the update or the changes included with the update. While is not expected to see all the new software features that LG offers with the G6, but it is pretty sure that LG has included all the basic Nougat goodies in the update.
Some of the features that the user can look forward to including bundled notifications, Data Saver, new emojis, improved Doze mode, and more. The Android 7.0 Nougat update is likely to include the latest security patch update as well.
