Samsung has started rolling out the latest update for the Galaxy Note 4 and Galaxy Note 5 devices. The latest update is currently rolling out to the devices in the United States.  The update is said to be a security update that brings along Android fixes for the month of July.

The software version N910FXXS1DQG5 is now available for the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 smartphone. However, the version N920TUVS4EQG1 available for the Samsung Galaxy Note 5 devices under T-Mobile, according to GSM Arena.

As for changes T-Mobile officially says that the update brings along system improvements, and it also has July security patch included in it. That is why it is one of the most recommended updates for the devices. The update package for the Galaxy Note 4 typically weighs around 200MB where as the update package for the Galaxy Note 5 is small in size, which is of around 24.39MB, as reported by AndroidHits.

The Samsung Galaxy Note 4 was released back in 2014. The device sports a 5.7-inch display with a resolution of 1,440 x 2,560 pixels, an Exynos 5433/Snapdragon 805 CPU. It also has 3GB of RAM, a 16MP rear-facing camera, a 3.7MP front-facing shooter and a 3,220mAh battery. Regarding the update, since is being disseminated OTA, it might take a few days before it hit each and every device.

The Samsung Galaxy Note 5 was released along with the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge Plus in 2015. The handset has already received two major software updates, with T-Mobile releasing an update for the Android 7.0 Nougat on April 25, 2017. While the smartphone might no longer receive any major operating system upgrades, the device owners should expect extended software support within the next few months. This could include bug fixes and other system improvements and there is also not any mention for July security patch for Note 5.
