After the Xiaomi Mi Max 2 was released in India last week, another Xiaomi device is yet to launch today, July 26. The highly anticipated smartphone, Xiaomi Mi 5X was reported to already garnered thousands of open registrations on its first sale last week as its teasers and leaked videos rampant the web.

According to GSM Arena, the newly launched Xiaomi Mi 5X sports a 5.5-inch display Full HD resolution (1920 x 1080) and is available in Gold, Black and Rose Gold colors. The device is said to be powered by Snapdragon 625 processor coupled with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of ROM. On the other hand, the rumored higher version of the Mi 5X packs a 6GB of RAM and 64GB or ROM.

Moreover, the feature that has Xiaomi fans wavering is the dual camera set-up for Mi 5X similar to that of the Xiaomi Mi 6. The Mi 5X was also shown to be donned with a horizontal dual camera setup of 12-megapixel resolution. The smartphone was also identified to be jet packed with a battery juice of 3080mAh for long usage.

Aside from the dual camera setup, another awaited feature of the Xiaomi Mi 5X is its latest integration of the company’s MIUI 9 based on Android 7.0 Nougat. The MIUI 9 OS expected to be released alongside the device before August 16 was rumored to unveil improvements like Xiaomi's Smart Assistant, built-in Image Search, split screen multitasking, a new file system and much more.

Regarding other features, the Xiaomi Mi 5X boasts its antenna bands at the edges which give it an iPhone-like appearance. The handset is also equipped with a 3.5mm audio jack and a USB Type-C cable with a 10W adapter (5V @2A) as reported by Gadgets NDTV.

Nonetheless, it was also revealed that consumer expectations for the Xiaomi Mi 5X are quite high as registrations were said to already reach 200,000 last week. The release date of the smartphone was stated to be this upcoming August 1. Consumers can grab the 4GB/64GB Xiaomi Mi 5X for around $220/€190.
