Apple Keynote Event - Oct. 16, 2014 [Live Stream & Program Schedule]: iPad Air 2, iPad Mini 3 Launch Confirmed
Apple is likely to be introducing two new iPad models -- namely the iPad Air 2 and iPad Mini 3 -- today during its Oct. 16, 2014 keynote event. This, after the company has allegedly posted photos of these two on iTunes yesterday before its official unveiling at the said event.
According to news posted by www.kxlf.com, the rumored screenshots suggest that the "new iPads will look similar to their predecessors. The main difference appears to be the addition of the Apple 'Touch ID' fingerprint scanner to both devices, and the addition of Burst Mode for the camera, which lets users take several photos in quick succession on the iPad Air 2", the site leaked.

What's in Store for Today's Event
Aside from these rumors, what's really in store in Apple's October 16 event in Cupertino, California is the announcement of the 27-inch, ultra-HD iMac, which is said to have Retina quality display, according to Tech Times. Apple said that the product will be ready for shipping before the end of 2014.
However, Mac gadget lovers might not be able to see the Retina MacBook Air just yet, as tipped by Macworld. The said new generation of MacBook Air will have a thinner, fanless design; though, it wouldn't be available yet this year as production will still start in December, confirmed by reports from The Independent.
Ming-Chi Kuo, an analyst from KGI, said shipments of iPad Air 2 "may be constrained."
Tech Times said that Apple revealed "the poor yield rate of anti-reflective coating cover lens has delayed mass production, and we are estimating 2014 shipments of iPad Air 2 of seven to nine million units, lower than the 12 million units of the then-new iPad Air shipments in 2013."
Other speculations on the Apple main event is the announcement of the launch date of its OS X Yosemite. This next-generation Mac operating system will feature enhanced interaction with iOS devices through its new Continuity options. Other products rumored to be announced at the event include Apple Pay and iOS 8.1, Mac Rumors said.
Too many hearsays and teasers, but a few hours left before the actual event. We are on the edge of our seats as we wait for these cutting edge Apple technology to be unveiled before our very eyes. Somehow, the Mac teaser for the event has kept us really waiting, until we finally realize that indeed, "It's been way too long."
