The Android Operating System (OS) from Google is awaiting its 8.0 version to be launched. It is expected to add more features to bring in more variety and efficiency to the OS.

According to Tom's Guide, Android version 8.0 is supposed to have AI-like assistive features. Reportedly, a new feature called "Copy Less" is being worked on by Google, which will let the OS automatically copy data to the clipboard in order to save time. The feature will work in the background and will remind the user when it can be used.

Another facility of the Android version 8.0 is that it could also give the messaging apps the power to automatically identify addresses in text. This is a feature that the iOS users have already been using for several years. Google might also see the inclusion of gesture based actions in the new Android version 8.0. Also drawing the letter "C" onscreen can bring up the list of contact present on the device running on the new OS.

As always, the new Android version 8.0 is supposed to get a "candy codename" like its predecessors. Though not revealed as of yet, it is being rumored that the Android version 8.0 could be codenamed after the popular sandwich cookie "Oreo". Going by it, some are already calling the Android version 8.0 as Android "O".

According to Computer World, the Google I/O is set to take place in May, where the company is expected to announce its new products and services. However, all the above-mentioned features might not be present in the new version of OS, but Google is working on them anyways. Last year, the Android version 7.0 from Google was released in March, and it was formally unveiled at the I/O conference held in May in a more formal way.

Looking at the past trend, it is expected that Google's Pixel handsets, along with the older Nexus ones will be the first to have the privilege of getting the Android version 8.0. With the Android version 7.0 Nougat launched only a year ago, it is now to be seen what excitement can the new Android version 8.0 bring in for the users.
