Apple broke up its traditional secrecy by declaring that it is developing a next-gen edition of its iMac desktop flagship. While the insight came just days before, ample amount of rumors and speculations have already started doing rounds about Apple's upcoming masterpiece. Among these, a potential range of hints about the device's expected specs and features came straight from a reliable source: Pike's Universum.

According to Macrumors, the insight has already revealed some of the most notable attributes hinted to be equipped with Apple's next iMac. The report suggests that Apple's upcoming magnetic desktop would be powered by Intel's Xeon E3-1285 v6 processor for providing evenly matched performance level in high-end operations and multitasking. The desktop is said to be packed with NVM Express PCIe-based flash SSD storage unit having a prolonged space of 2TB. As for the memory specification, the next iMac is said to sport better capacity than its earlier predecessors. As per the indications, the desktop would initially boast 16 GB ECC RAM. Moreover, the ECC RAM would be extendable up to 32 GB or 64 GB as per user's requirement.

The ECC RAM is practically a new content to Apple's iMac lineup, as the last edition of iMac comes with a 8 GB Non-ECC RAM, which stands with the configurable capacity up to 16 GB or 32 GB. There are certain sets of refreshing attributes to be seen in the new iMac too. As per a report by Digital Trends, Apple's next iMac is hinted to come with a new AMD GPU having external ability to quickly render virtual reality. The desktop is further said to flaunt Thunderbolt 3 ports which can generally carry power, USB, DisplayPort, VGA, HDMI etc, just by a single cable.

Another striking thing that has been lately indicated to be equipped with Apple's newest iMac is a keyboard having Touch ID and Touch Bar, However, it was earlier stated that Apple is developing a standalone Magic Desktop having these two exclusive features which have already created spectacular buzz for its MacBook Pro 2016. Although, it is still not known whether Apple would be considering the same keyboard for its next iMac or it would be taking steps to make something other than this. The iMac is said to be officially announced sometime in the Q3 this year.
