South Korean electronics supergiant Samsung have unveiled two new flagship smartphones for 2017 this month, with the release of Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus. Both two smartphones have been restructured up to a certain extent with major changes in its design. The fingerprint sensor, which is now moved to the back of the smartphone, might lead to discomfort for some users.

Both Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus smartphones remain the same in their hardware specifications except for their batteries. The latter, due to its bigger display, has secured a better capacity at 3,500mAh while the Galaxy S8 has a capacity of 3,000mAh. Meanwhile, Samsung has rather opted for an unusual screen ratio with a resolution of 2960x1440 which is approximately a ratio of 18.5:9. In certain cases, it leads to an uncomfortable viewing experience when it comes to images and videos.

Details from Forbes reveals Samsung apparently hurried in launching their new Galaxy S8 smartphones, according to an analyst. Now that the fingerprint sensor has been re-positioned to the back, it is arguably uncomfortable reaching the fingerprint sensor since it inevitably leads to a two-handed operation for the majority of users. This eventually led to users accidentally touching the camera lens. Samsung seems to have admitted the flaw eventually leading to a pop-up that requests users to frequently wipe the panel of the camera at the back.

Samsung's latest Gear 360 VR portable camera which live streams video at a resolution of 4K also supports Apple iPhones. A report from Engadget mentions that Apple users having an iPhone 6s, iPhone SE or a newer device can make use of the new 360 camera from Samsung. It has a battery capacity of 1,160mAh according to the reports and also lacks a dedicated tripod, unlike its successor.

Band industries have launched a Kickstarter campaign for an automatic instrument tuner called "Roadie" that is compatible with 'almost all stringed instruments'. Campaign details revealed it will be offered was two variants, possibly with two battery capacities and some minor changes. It has succeeded its target funding of $50,000 and is still going on.
