Recently, it was found that the pregnant female giraffe, April, has a belly that is "bulging," with her baby calf "sticking out," said her zookeepers at the Animal Adventure Park in Harpursville, New York.

There were reports from Allysa and Joel that a lot of major movement and bulging of April's belly could be seen. The left side of the giraffe seemed to have "a leg, joint, neck or something sticking out!" explained the zoo's Facebook post last Sunday, April 9. They explained that while the female ate all the food that was given the previous night, it was obvious that her front teats filled out. There were also some differences noted in her manure size. In the entire process, there were a number of things that were documented by the zookeepers, according to US Magazine.

With temperatures shooting up to the mid-60s in New York, it would be likely for April and her other giraffe companions to remain for a while in the yard. A day earlier, the zoo said April continued to make progress and was reported to be doing well, according to a Facebook post on Saturday, April 8. "April keeps us waiting. Keeper and vet reports today have no remarkable change. Though this may seem redundant - it's actually a good thing! Full udders, huge belly, mom ready - we just need the labor process to begin - so we are waiting for that final stage."

April has been getting complete attention from millions all over the world as her live stream has been running since February. After delivering a calf weighing about 150 pounds, with a height of 6-feet at birth, April's baby is expected to be a celebrity soon. Usually, a giraffe remains pregnant for 15 months. After the baby is born, the zoo will hold a competition to select a name for the calf.
