Samsung Galaxy S8 will already have its first update even if it is not released yet. After it was introduced two weeks ago, the said smartphone reportedly will get an Android Nougat 7.1 update soon. So when will this new update hit Samsung's upcoming flagship device?
Since last year, Samsung Galaxy S8 have been one of the most highly anticipated smartphones along with the Galaxy S8 Plus that consumers are waiting in the market. Dubbed as "Project Dream", Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus is said to be the barometer of new age handset this year.
Samsung Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus is packed with lavish design and display making it more appealing that the usual smartphone today. It will also sport the newest specs such as the latest processor, an AI assistant, camera plus fresh apps and special features. However, there will be a conflict on the new apps running on its software.
According to Android Headlines, Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus will run on Google's operating system, Android 7.0 Nougat, including the demo units but two Samsung apps, will struggle to run on it. S Health and Game Tuner are only supported by an Android 7.1 software making it more evident that both Samsung's flagship phones will have its update anytime soon.
But aside from the Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus, there are other Samsung devices that will have this update also. Some believed that the Galaxy S7 and the Galaxy S7 Edge will be included on the update and Galaxy Note 5 was also mentioned. But, this is still speculation for now and the giant tech company has not confirmed it.
Gizbot further added that Samsung devices usually get the recent software which is currently the Android 7.0 version. And most of the time, Samsung will issue the software update on its devices by altering its version number. But this time around, they might already put in the Android 7.1 on the Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus before its release.
Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus U.S. release date are said to be on April 21 while it is set to hit the U.K. market on April 28. Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus prices will be at $720, £689, AU$1,199 making it one of the most expensive smartphone to be released on the market.
