Animal Adventure Park proprietor Jordan Patch live-streamed April the giraffe's birthing procedure on YouTube. The video, which got 30 million views inside 12 hours of showing, was pulled from YouTube after a few animal right activists protested against the video being sexually explicit and containing nakedness.

April the giraffe's experience to the birth of her fourth calf hasn't been a simple one, even as she was unaware of the fact that the whole world was cheering her by means of a viral live video of her pregnancy experiences. Presently, the discussions about April the giraffe and her home are put aside as she finally delivered a no-named yet male calf on Saturday morning.

The 15-year-old April the giraffe gave birth shortly before 10 a.m. EDT in a closed pen at the zoo in Harpursville, a provincial upstate town around 130 miles (209 kilometers) northwest of New York City as per al-Arabiya. One of the discussions about April's pregnancy was that it could be a fabrication, as she takes so long to give birth.

The truth of the matter is that giraffes really do take a long time to conceive an offspring because their pregnancies can continue for up to 15 months. April the giraffe was at that point in her thirteenth month of pregnancy when the live videos started.

Very different to humans who have various options when giving birth, giraffes normally gives birth standing up, thus having their calves fall from a height of around five feet. During the time of birth, calves can already stand, and around ten hours into their new lives, they can already start running with their moms. Yes, despite the fact that their necks are long, giraffes have just seven neck bones - simply like humans and many other creatures.

Sadly, the past 15 years haven't been good to giraffes, as their numbers have fallen extremely, adding them to the rundown of endangered species. They are chased for their meat, coat, and tails that are used for good luck bracelets. The live videos that started when April the giraffe was 13 months toward her pregnancy were made partially to inform people about giraffe protection.
