Samsung Galaxy S8 is one of the first smartphones to feature Bluetooth 5.0 technology that helps in improved connectivity and transfer speeds. While Samsung has managed to please everybody with their latest release, a report from Business Insider feels the new flagship from Samsung is very fragile in terms of its durability.

On the other hand, Chinese smartphone maker Huawei's competition, the Mate 9 also comes with a similar spec sheet and display size. It is to be noted that the Huawei Mate 9 is comparatively less expensive than the current generation Samsung Galaxy S8 flagship.

A detailed comparison from GSMArena reveals common hardware implementations at least in the graphical and memory departments. The Galaxy S8's primary standpoint is their latest generation proprietary Exynos 8895 and the Snapdragon 835 octa-core chips capable of overtaking any existing competition in the Android environment.

The front-facing display on the Samsung Galaxy S8  is now integrated with a 3D touch home button eliminating the physical buttons seen in its predecessors. The fingerprint sensor on the new Samsung flagship is now moved to the back of the device just next to the camera bump like the Mate 9 from Huawei.

The Galaxy S8 is IP68 certified meaning the phone is now dust resistant as well as water resistant. It's Chinese competitor, the Huawei Mate 9 isn't capable of the same. The display on the Mate 9 is limited to a resolution of 1080p while the S8 smartphone has a resolution of 2960x1440 in a weird 18.5:9 screen ratio.

The only downside on the Galaxy S8 is the fact that Samsung has retained the 12MP cameras from its predecessors which do have some issues as reported earlier. The Huawei Mate 9, however, has a rear-facing 20MP sensor with an aperture of f/2.2 and also is equipped with OIS facilities.

The Samsung Galaxy S8 smartphone offers fast charging and wireless charging facilities with the help of a Qi charger and also offers Samsung DeX, their desktop experience environment. The Huawei Mate 9 also offers fast battery charging but doesn't offer a desktop experience.

Battery capacity on the Galaxy S8 is lower compared to the Huawei Mate 9. The Huawei Mate 9 overtakes the Galaxy S8 with a 4000mAh battery while the former just offers a mere 3000mAh battery considering its display resolution is more than twice its competition.
