OnePlus has already made it large with its last year's stunners: OnePlus 3 and 3T. The company is now planning to extend this fever over its fans with its upcoming masterpiece. In its bid to freshen things up, OnePlus recently announced that its next smartphone will be unveiled sometime in summer this year. Another striking and surprising that the company mentioned is that the next handset will skip the encoding of being the fourth quotient in its incredible lineup and would directly be named as OnePlus 5.

On the question of the company's sudden decision to skip the number 4 above OnePlus 5, OnePlus hinted some numerological explanation in this context. As being a Chinese tech master OnePlus claimed to follow the country's numerological traditions, which describes 4 as an unlucky number. According to The Verge, this explanation might have also been indicated by OnePlus earlier as there are already four existing smartphones of it. And the latest one of them has been cleverly named as OnePlus 3T.

However, the company has also pointed to some other thoughts over the next handset's naming as well on its official Twitter handle. It said that the employees of the company are fans of former NBA player Robert Horry, and to convey respect to him they planned to name the next smartphone after his jersey number, which is 5. ZDNet also pointed some potential specifications and features which are to be expected to be equipped in OnePlus 5. The report suggests that the smartphone will boast dual rear camera alongside Qualcomm's latest Snapdragon 835 chipset.

Besides all these, the handset is also expected come with a bigger battery, possibly a 3600 mAh one or even greater than that. As for the display, OnePlus 5 is said to follow the company's smartphone buildup pursuit till date with a Full HD front panel. The pricing and availability of the same are still mysteries.
