The much-anticipated flagship smartphone for the OnePlus company reportedly got a much higher benchmark score against front-runner and previously released handset Samsung Galaxy S8 and Sony Xperia XZ Premium. What score do the following smartphones get in the latest test result?

OnePlus is a Chinese smartphone manufacturer that has established a name in the consumer electronic industry. Founded in 2013, the growing tech company has produced likely some of the high-end handsets today as it continues to expand in different regions around the world. And its latest flagship smartphone this year, the OnePlus 5, allegedly offers the same value that the Samsung Galaxy S8 and Sony Xperia XZ Premium can give.

OnePlus 5 is OnePlus 3 and 3T's successor after the Chinese smartphone maker decides not to use the number four because it is considered as unlucky in China. What makes the said smartphone more interesting is it allegedly boost by better specs at a cheaper price. Now, leak benchmark result shows that it got a better scorecard than the more popular brand of smartphone in the market today.

According to GSM Arena, OnePlus 5 beats the Samsung Galaxy S8 and Sony Xperia XZ Premium at GeekBench benchmark scorecard. The result shows that OnePlus upcoming handset gathered a remarkable score of 1963 in single-core and a commanding 6687 score in multi-core.

On the other hand, Samsung Galaxy S8 only scored 1929 in single-core and 6084 in multi-core while Sony Xperia XZ Premium got 1943 in single-core and 5824 in multi-core. OnePlus 5, Galaxy S8 and Xperia XZ are all using one chipset, Qualcomm's Snapdragon 835 processor. So what makes the OnePlus handset bested the other two?

According to BGR, OnePlus 5 might be featuring more RAM and could be running a different version of Android 7.1 Nougat. Specification reveals that OnePlus upcoming flagship smartphone will come with an Android 7.1.1 Nougat base on OnePlus' OxygenOS software update.

Samsung Galaxy S8 has been advertised as the most powerful smartphone available in the market today as it beat the Sony Xperia XZ Premium and iPhone 7 in real life tests. But OnePlus 5 could have found a way to match it up carrying the same Qualcomm processor but in a much better Android Nougat OS.
