The Chinese entity Meitu, known for making spectacular selfie apps, yet has another surprise for selfie fanatic individuals. The company just announced its newest smartphone M8, which is again noted as a fantastic creation from Meitu. The smartphone will be launched as a successor to Meitu T8, which was officially released some time back. Meitu has equipped some of the best in class features in its next smartphone. And the smartphone will be released in two complimentary editions for the primary launch namely, Hello Kitty and Sailor Moon versions.

According to The Verge, Meitu M8 flaunts the company's iconic hexagonal shape. It comes with some serious hardware revamp. It boasts a 5.2-inch AMOLED display with full HD resolution support up to 1920 X 1080 range. The handset is powered by a quad-core MediaTek Helio X20 processor coupled with a Mali-T880 graphics unit. As for memory specification, Meitu M8 comes with a 4 GB RAM alongside 64 GB of internal memory. For an extensive power back up, the smartphone holds a 3000 mAh battery that can last long up to 10 hours on a single charge.

Besides all these, perhaps the most interesting features rest upon its both cameras. Digital Trends notes that Meitu M8 comes with a 21 MP rear snapper. The classy 12 MP front shooter made of Sony IMX362 sensor takes everyone by surprise. The selfie camera holds phase-detection autofocusing attribute alongside dual sensor support which allows better light and exposure to be pinned over every click. Meitu is also offering complimentary sets of gifts like exclusive exterior designs, special UIs, gift boxes, collection certificates, and a selfie stick with gold-accented finishing to the first 20,000 buyers of the smartphone for absolutely free of cost.

Meitu M8 will be officially released on the company's website on Friday, May 12th, at noon. The smartphone is expected to be shipped in the United States as well, though Meitu has not yet declared any such plans. The smartphone will be available with a price tag of 2,999 yuan in China which accounts to be near about $435. Meitu has announced that, in the beginning, only 10,000 copies of the smartphone will be introduced. Later, the company would stock more 10,000 pieces of Meitu M8. For those who don't want to buy any of the Hello Kitty and Sailor Moon variants, Meitu will expectedly launch another version of the smartphone too soon.
