Popular Chinese electronics manufacturer Xiaomi is expected to announce a new budget smartphone very soon. The company is also preparing for its major 'flagship' product, the Mi 6 which happens to be on May 25 according to reports from the internet. The new budget smartphone, the Redmi Pro 2 was accidentally listed on the company's website before being brought down from the domain.

The incident was covered by GSMArena which reports the smartphone was visible on the web long enough to note key specifications and the overall design of the Redmi Pro 2 smartphone from Xiaomi. Screenshots of the new smartphone quickly spread across the internet which included some key specifications like the battery of the device.

A report from Android Headlines indicates the Xiaomi Redmi Pro 2 will be released in a couple of months from now. The new device will feature a metal build, possibly with dual cameras on the back side. Taking a look at the screenshot, the smartphone will sport a 4100mAh battery. However, the screen resolution of the smartphone is unknown with reports suggesting that the phone will carry a display size of 5.5-inches and an AMOLED panel on top of it.

Rumors predicted the smartphone would be powered by a Helio X25 chip. However, the Xiaomi Redmi Pro 2 device will be equipped with the newly released Snapdragon 660 SoC from Qualcomm that was introduced this month. The new processors feature an X12 LTE modem and Bluetooth 5.0 technology by default. Pricing of the upcoming smartphone is expected to be around $174 for the base variant that comes with 2GB RAM and 32GB of onboard storage.

Xiaomi plans to introduce not one but three variants, with different memory configurations and storage on board. The other two choices for the Redmi Pro 2 include 3GB RAM, 64GB of storage and 4GB RAM, 128GB storage capacities.
