Microsoft has introduced a new lineup of their premium segment 'Surface Pro' devices at a launch event in Shenzhen, China. The new Surface Pro devices now offer cellular LTE connectivity onboard. The company has also got rid of their usual numbering scheme like the previous generation hardware.

The latest generation of Surface Pro hardware features the same 3:2 display like the Surface Pro 4, with a display resolution 2736 x 1824 px. For a while now, the industry had rather expected to see the much anticipated Microsoft Surface Surface Pro 5. However, all rumors were quashed when Panos Panay, the company's SVP and head of 'Microsoft Surface' revealed that the company had no immediate plans to bring the successors to their current products.

As per reports from AnandTech, the new Surface Pro comes with a 12.3-inch PixelSense display with over 800 new customized parts inside. Microsoft has also packed the new hardware with new cooling technology and a bigger battery resulting in a higher display on-time of up to 13.5 hours.

Due to the latest generation Intel processors on board, the devices will now see a significant boost in everyday performance. The new Surface Pro will be offered at a starting price of $799 peaking up to $2699 as reported by TechCrunch. The premium segment from Microsoft doesn't need much polishing on the outside since the company has pretty much managed to bring out a well-crafted device.

A side by side comparison of the new Surface Pro, with the preceding Surface Pro 4 doesn't look any different at least in the hardware design. The company has rather diverted their primary concentration towards the display on the hybrid device which now features a color-accurate solid display that features an enhanced color gamut which can be selected alongside sRGB. The new lineup is also equipped speaker grills embedded into the frame of the device with Dolby Premium audio for excellent audio output.
