ASUS was reported to have released its latest gaming laptops and its upcoming 16-core, 32-thread Ryzen Threadripper CPU. Yet, the most notable launch was the Taipei-based company’s first AMD Ryzen 7 powered laptop, the ASUS Rog Strix GL702ZC.
According to Digital Trends, ASUS had unveiled its gaming laptop lineup last Computex 2017. Among those which were revealed were ASUS Rog Zephyrus GX501, ASUS Rog Strix GL702VI, ASUS ROG Strix Scar Edition and Hero Edition. Of course, the first Ryzen powered laptop known as ASUS Rog Strix GL702ZC was also mentioned as well.
With that said, the ASUS Rog Zephyrus GX501 was identified to run Intel Core i7-7700HQ processor alongside Nvidia’s GeForce GTX 1080 graphics chip, which has an additional radiator. The device was said to be cooled due to the laptop’s Active Aerodynamic System (AAS). The ASUS Rog Strix GL702VI was then identified to be the most affordable in the lineup. It is not yet known whether it would sport an Intel Core i5 or Core i7 processor. Yet, it was described to run on GeForce GTX 1080 graphics chip.
Aside from the ASUS Rog Zephyrus GX501 and ASUS Rog Strix GL702VI, two more editions of the gaming laptops were stated to be tweaked for E-sports gaming. The ASUS ROG Strix Scar Edition and Hero Edition was said to be based on the latest ROG Strix GL503 and ROG Strix GL703 laptops. The Rog Strix Scar Edition was stated to be designed for first-person shooter games while the Hero edition works best on MOBA games.
However, the gaming laptop that has gained popularity among the list is the company’s first AMD Ryzen 7 powered laptop, the ASUS Rog Strix GL702ZC.
