Popular New Jersey company Star Snacks Co. is recalling cashews sold at the ALDI stores. The company distributed the cashews to the ALDI stores situated in the 29 U.S. states.

According to FDA, Star Snacks Co. is recalling the canisters of the Southern Grove Cashew Halves and Pieces that were distributed to the ALDI stores. The company is recalling the packages of the cashews due to the probable presence of the glass pieces. The announcement surfaced on Tuesday.

The company decided to recall the cashews after receiving important reports from the consumers. The consumer reports claimed the presence of glass pieces in the said product, and so far no cases of injuries are reported. The packages of the cashews have been removed from the ALDI stores. The important thing is other necessary products are not affected due to this recall.

The distributed cans of cashews have the UPC code 041498179366. The "Best by date" is also printed on the bottom of these cans. The company recalled two lots of 8 oz. canisters of the cashews. The notice of the Food & Drug Administration has listed all the 29 states where the ALDI stores are situated. Customers are already urged not to eat the cashews.

A few days ago another company in the U.S. recalled another important food product. The Science Times reported that the Hilo Fish Company recalled the frozen tuna steaks from Oklahoma, Texas, and California. Some test results showed the probable contamination of these tuna steaks with the bad hepatitis A virus. The FDA also addressed this issue with utmost care like the recent one about the recalling of the cashew cans.

Now the consumers who have purchased the cashew canisters are requested to return them to the local ALDI stores for a refund. The FDA notice also shows the contact number of the Star Snacks. Customers can use them to interact with the company if necessary.
