AMD’s recently released Radeon Software Crimson ReLive Edition 17.6.2 was reported to fix some issues in the renowned games “Dirt 4” and “Prey.” However, some issues were identified to still be left unfixed in the Crimson ReLive Edition yet temporary countermeasures were still given by experts.
According to Tom’s Hardware, the Radeon Software Crimson ReLive Edition 17.6.2 improved “Dirt 4” by a 30 percent better framerate using 8x MSAA. Meanwhile, “Prey” was identified to perform 4 percent faster. The performance metrics of a “Radeon RX 580 graphics card, Intel Core i7-7700K CPU, and 16GB of DDR4 RAM at 3000MHz” was stated to make the improvements possible.
With that said, HDR failing to enable some displays for QHD was also fixed by the Radeon Software Crimson ReLive Edition 17.6.2. Driver. The error message “Radeon Additional Settings: Host application has stopped working” pop-up was also removed when hotplugging displays. “Mass Effect: Andromeda” also received improvements on Multi-GPU system configurations as well.
On the contrary, users pointed out that there are still issues left unfixed by the Radeon Software Crimson ReLive Edition 17.6.2. The first issue is when a user switches tasks using ALT+TAB, recording or streaming issues is experienced. The second is that performing task switches could fail and that recording Microsoft Office apps might corrupt as well.
Aside from that, the “World of Warcraft" and "Counter-Strike: Global Offensive” is also said to show flickering or performance issues upon using the Radeon Software Crimson ReLive Edition 17.6.2. However, it was noted that restarting or alt-tabbing out of the games could immediately fix the issue as reported by Digital Trends.
Moreover, it was mentioned that there is also an issue on the use of Xbox DVR application. Yet, AMD noted that users should disable it if issues are experienced. Using Adobe Lightroom on Windows 7 PCs with the Radeon RX 390 Series GPUs was also said to crash upon booting the system with the Radeon Software Crimson ReLive Edition 17.6.2.
Nonetheless, Vega GPUs from AMD was expected to be coming in July as well. Users could download the latest Radeon Software Crimson ReLive Edition 17.6.2. in AMD’s website. AMD was mentioned to slowly fix all the necessary left issues in the driver.
