Citizens from the U.S. and other countries are to witness a full moon in July this year. The full moon is said to be called the "Thunder Moon" and will be witnessed by the people from July 8 to 10 amid the month being frequent on thunderstorms.

According to Space, the full moon a.ka. "Thunder Moon" got its name since the July month in the U.S. is frequent on experiencing thunderstorms. Aside from the "Thunder Moon", other moons were named after Northern and Southern Hemisphere climates as well like the Māori of New Zealand.

With that said, the July "Thunder Moon" event is slated to be completely full at 12:07 a.m. EDT (0407 GMT) on Sunday (July 9). The Thunder Moon was identified to be situated at the Sagittarius constellation just below Aquila (The Eagle) and above Nunki (Sigma Sagittarii). Not only does the full moon appear in the United States, but it is also said to be visible to Europe residents as well.

Moreover, citizens from the southern U.S. were said to have a magnificent view of the "Thunder Moon" this July. Sky watchers were said to witness the full moon at exactly 7:31 p.m. on July 8 as it reaches its full phase at 12:07 a.m. July 9. Yet, the Thunder Moon will already set at 5:57 a.m. local time. People from Sydney, Australia were also mentioned to watch the sky with the full moon on July 9 and 10 as well.

On the other hand, Moon Giant reported that the Thunder Moon is considered by American Indian tribes as the Full Buck Moon. Unlike the Thunder moon derived from the climate, the Buck Moon was identified to be formed since July is the month wherein the Buck Deer grow their new antlers. Other moon phases this July 2017 are detailed in the chart here.

Nonetheless, if people are unable to witness the full "Thunder Moon" this July 9, they could still watch it as it sets on July 10. Another moon event is also slated this upcoming July 23 but this time, a new moon is said to be witnessed by sky watchers.
