Scientists have baffled with the mysterious radio signal, which was received for the first time on Aug. 15, 1977. The message was first received in the Ohio State University Radio Observatory, when an astronomer Dr. Jerry Ehman, received a signal as a hydrogen line with a "6EQUJ5" notation in the signal. The mysterious radio signal was received from Sagittarius constellation, and further analysis found the source of the signal is from Ross 128, a dim dwarf star 11 light-years away.

For 40 years, astronomers and astrophysicists have tried to decode the message, which suggested to be a message from alien life form. Earlier this year, astronomers from Center for Planetary Science, Professor Antonio Paris announced that he has convinced about the source of the mysterious radio signal. Profesor Paris and his colleague Evan Davies found similar signal came from two comets that passed the earth.

Following a further examination, researchers at the Center for Planetary Science in Florida have concluded the mysterious radio signal was originated from the hydrogen cloud in the comets. They also tested to read three other comets and encountered exactly similar message, as reported by Sky News.

Another confirmation about the origin of the signal from the comets also came from the Director of Planetary Habitability Laboratory at the University of Puerto Rico at Arecibo, Abel Mendez in his blog post on July 21. He pointed that even though scientists were not able to determine whether the mysterious radio signal was an unusual stellar activity or a proof of transmission from extra terrestrial, but the source of signal from Ross 128 has been determined.

“We are now confident about the source of the Weird! Signal,“ Mendez wrote about the source of the mysterious radio signal. "The best explanation is that the signals are transmissions from one or more geostationary satellites.”

Some members of the scientific communities are still unconvinced with the result. Moreover, the public are also anxious with expectation to receive message from aliens to inform that human being is not alone in this universe. However, the result of the mysterious radio signal has proven that human is all alone.
