Everything that the world knows about the outer space comes from a team of the ever dependable NASA rovers. While each one has shown a number of stunning stuff, it is like so easy to say when a picture from space you are looking it is that of Mars. It's like one can tell that the sample is from Mars and not from another planet.

When the sky is almost often orange and the surface is devoid of anything recognizable, it is like something that comes from Mars. One of the images showed a bed of pebbles that resemble those that come from Earth.

"The rover used its Mars Hand Lens Imager (MAHLI) conveniently located at the end of the robot's arm," NASA explains. The image was taken on March 24. There are a few notable things about the photo it sends the NASA station. First, the tiny rocks come in off white color than the usual bold orange that resembles that of steel rust. The orange color is expected as it is the color of the surface of Mars.

The terrain of the planet comes in a lot of variations and it is fairly rare that people on Earth get a chance at a closer look at the surface of another planet. Secondly, it is quite noticeable that a gray ball is found mixed with pinkish oval pebbles. In the past, the presence of perfectly spherical shapes has led to a lot of questions. Could these have been leftovers of the civilization that once thrived in the planet? They could also look like projectiles that were used in ancient combat to resolve conflicts.

NASA reassures that they are looking closely into it. They don't want to assume that these atmospheric "blueberries" are of anything that could confirm that there was life that survived in Mars. For all we know, they could be a product of a natural phenomenon that hit the surface of Mars. Scientists call it concretion.

It is the process of minerals beginning to gather in water-soaked rocks. They eventually harden in time. However, when the outer portion of the rocks begin to erode due to the natural weather phenomenon, the inner layer takes a bit more time to erode. Sometimes, the wind causes them to come in shapes that look a lot like they were used by humans.

This image from the rover Curiosity is indeed a beautiful reminder of how harsh conditions can bring about beautiful things out of it. Also, it shows us that although there is no life surviving on the planet Mars, it is still much like the planet Earth. Its surface along with all the other natural elements that are found in it is very similar to those that we have on Earth.

Who knows what else can be found out there? All we could do is wait for all the exciting news that NASA rovers are set to bring home.
