NORTH CAROLINA, USA -- If you are allergic to pollen, then now might not be a good time to visit North Carolina. Before the expected storm sets in the Durham on Monday, a photographer was able to capture the image of what seemed like a pollen apocalypse. The image looked like a haze of tree pollen was blanketing the entire city making everything looked all green.

"Pollen was floating in the air on Monday. It was found on everything too like the cars, handrails, on the ground and on practically everything on sight," as reported on ABC 11.

The photographer, Jeremy Gilchrist, took to Facebook what he captured was simply amazing. His post included the pictures of the entire city of Durham covered with all that pollen. Gilchrist says, "No tricks here. Yes you are looking at a green haze made up of all the trees in North Carolina."

The heavy rain that came with the storm helped clean the air and wash away all the pollen. This unique phenomenon may seem surprising to all, but it brings with it good news to the environment. According to Brittany Bell, a meteorologist, there is a significant increase in the pollen count in North Carolina and this brings about positive news to those growing plants.

The increase in the number of pollen present in the environment also signifies that the efforts to lessen the effects of global warming on plants and people are working. With continues reduction in the use of plastics, people can see a huge difference in how the things around them are thriving. The presence of pollen in the environment also means that the insects responsible for them are thriving in that given area. That's good news too.

When the insects are surviving, then the other creatures that are dependent on them are surviving the challenges of global warming too. There is ecological balance and that is what this world needs. The pollen blanket is a unique phenomenon that happened in North Carolina and the other cities in the world suffering from the lack of pollen would very much want something like this to happen to them.

However, this good news to the environment may bring about disturbing allergic reactions to those suffering from pollen allergies. This so-called "pollen apocalypse" is expected to only worsen on Wednesday then to an even higher count on Thursday, according to the report by ABC 11.

Indeed, the world thrives in finding the perfect balance of the things present and the absent. Thought it is termed as the pollen apocalypse, it brings with it good news for the US and for the rest of the world.
