While mostly designed with competitors and corporate buyers in mind, this year's International Consumer Electronics Show is sure to be one for the masses. Marking "CES Day Zero", Monday morning's press day, while filled with keynote speakers and presentations from the CEOs of Samsung, Sony, Panasonic, LG and even Mercedes, also alluded to a few inventions in the works that will have you opening up your wallet.

This year marks a definitive shift in the way the industry is headed, and with the unveiling of the newest theme the Internet of Things (IoT), the Consumer Electronics Show is bringing consumers even closer to action. While there are still all of the traditional inventions shown at the show in ever-updated models, like cars and televisions, this year's IoT plans on offering applications and "smarter" methods for living your everyday life.

For those of you inclined to make 2015 an even healthier year as part of your new year's resolution, you're in luck. Athleticwear powerhouse Under Armour has got some smart new options in store for you, and in collaboration with MapMyFitness technology it acquired in late 2013, it's unveiling an app of its own.

UA Record, Under Armours newest venture in the technology of smart athleticwear, will connect users of any Android or iOS device with a concise and graphable track of all daily activity-running the gamut from steps in your day, your daily workouts, and even to how you sleep. By continually updating your weight, the UA Record will provide a detailed analysis of your progress to show you exactly what you're doing right, and where you might want to cut back. And if you're a social junky as well, you'll be pleased to know that you can share your milestones and goals from UA Record with your friends in the social sphere, even allowing you to challenge your friends to see who's working the hardest.

In addition, the company's wearable sensors division, Armour39, will work in collaboration with developers at HTC to find new products that UA Record can work succinctly with to better offer an unrivaled user experience.

"We want our products to meet the needs of every individual" HTC CEO, Peter Chou says. "So far, no company has been able to deliver this level of support, and we feel we have a tremendous opportunity to disrupt and accelerate the development of this market."
