Smartwatch fans will soon be able to buy the newest edition of Pebble Time, named the "best smartwatch you can buy" by The Verge. It is a pioneering venture which will be the standard of the future smartwatch market. Pebble Time, a kickstarter backed venture, is a smartwatch with a timeline interface. It will be shipped to the backers next month, a month after the release of Apple iWatch. Coming with thinner, smoother and glossier look, the smartwatch will sell at $199, which is far more affordable than Moto 360 ($250), LG G Watch R ($270) and iWatch ($349). The project already has more than 54,000 backers on Kickstarter!

Pebble has an industry-leading durable battery life. Its new color e-paper screen helps makes power consumption more efficient, and each recharge will keep the watch running for about 7 days.

Unlike other smartwatch brands, its e-paper interface uses a 64-color palette display, making it much easier for the user to read. The lens is made of scratch resistant Gorilla Glass. Also, Pebble is persistent in sticking to physical buttons to operate the device instead of the current mainstream of touch screen use.

Here are reasons why Pebble is better compared to other smartwatches in the market today.

Pebble Time has new microphone feature powered by 100Mhz ARM Cortex M4 CPU and 64KB of RAM. This new futuristic smartwatch will also have flexible light sensor, 3 axis accelerometer and 3D compass. The smartwatch will also be equipped with more powerful Bluetooth that can send pictures to iOS and Android phones within a distance of 50 meters.

The latest version of Pebble Time will come in a slimmer design. It's just about 9.5 mm thick or 20% thinner than its previous models, making it more comfortable on the wrist. Also, there will be choices of black, red and white cases that come along with the black or silver stainless steel bezel. Pebble also has an accessory port. Hardware developers can build sensors and straps that can be connected to the device.

This scratch-resistant smartwatch, we hope, will meet the demands of the market and fill the gap that its contemporaries have left.

That's all the spec information known so far, the full specs will be released later on alongside the Pebble Time SDK.
