Sony Xperia Z4 is one of the most highly-anticipated smartphones yet to come after the release of iPhone 6, HTC M8 and Samsung S6. Sony was expected to showcase the phone at MWC 2015, and subsequently release it soon as Sony has a habit of launching a new handset every six months.

But these claims were declined by Sony, and the Z4 was a no-show at MWC 2015. According to Forbes, Sony may actually plan to exit the smart phone market based on a comment made by CEO Kazuo Hirai that Sony could not pursue sales growth in areas such as smartphones.

Other rumors state that the new Xperia Z4 is still in the works but it has been pushed back. The delay could also mean that the handset is presently not ready.

It can be assumed that Sony doesn't want to compete with the flagships of Samsung and HTC, so we believe the new Xperia Z4 will be launching in late summer or most probably in June. Another interesting rumor has been stating that Sony will be launching a walkman edition of the flagship Xperia Z4.

Design:

There have been several leaked images on the design of Xperia X4, but we can bet that it will similar to the Xperia smartphone design. Leaked images show Xperia Z4 sporting a rectangular design with angular corners and front and rear panels made up of glass.

Screen:

There are plenty of rumors and debate on what exactly is going to be the size of Xperia Z4. Early rumors claimed the screen to be 5.5 inch/5.4 inch. But recent rumors state that the size of the screen will be the same as the Xperia Z3 i.e. 5.2 inches. However, it is all-but certain that Sony will use the Quad HD (2560 x 1440) display.

Power:

The new Xperia Z4 is said to have a 64-bit 2.8GHz octa-core Snapdragon 810 processor and 4GB of RAM, while other sources state that Sony will opt for Snapdragon 805 and 3 GB RAM. The battery is believed to be 3420mAh.

OS:

It is assumed that Sony will opt for Android 5.0 Lollipop, similar to the Xperia Z3. But if certain rumors are to be believed then it's possible that the new Xperia Z4 will sport the latest version of Android 5.1 Lollipop.

Camera:

The new Xperia Z4 is said to have a 21/5 MP camera with Exmor RS IMX230 sensor. Some rumors suggest that Sony may opt for the IMX189AEG CMOS image sensor.
