Tiny Worm Swimming

On a Facebook post, Shaw shared some snaps of the worm in a bid to caution other customers to be wary.

In the said post, she wrote she was filling sick after she went to the food chain to order a children's chicken fillet meal with Pepsi for a beverage. She added everything was fine with the food, the lid on the drink didn't have any hole for the straw and therefore she needed to take it off.

The customer began to drink her beverage and found something on the edge of the cup, looking closer, she discovered a tiny worm, The Sun said in a similar report.

Describing the small creature found in her drink, Shaw said the texture, shape, and head were distinctly visible. Certainly, she continued, it was not something from the pipes and all.

The woman also said she was feeling physically ill she wouldn't have even noticed it if she had not had to take the top out and the small amount she consumed she didn't know if there was more in it.

Meal Supposedly for Children

Shaw pointed out that what she ate was meant to be a meal for children and she's sure a child would not have stopped to look.

She had made a complaint to KFC already. She explained, that the last time she was visiting the restaurant although she warned the food chain to be aware of their cleanliness.

She elaborated, that it did make her physically ill, although she thinks it was only the thought that she had ingested. It remains unknown where the bug came from, or exactly what it is.

The mother was left embarrassed by her experience although she admitted she had never had any issues with the KFC branch before.

Food Poisoning vs Stomach Bug

According to Healthline, one can develop stomach bug symptoms from drinking a beverage with a worm. An individual usually develops stomach symptoms from 12 to 24 hours of being exposed to the illness. A lot of cases of the stomach bug vanish within a few days.

Nevertheless, the exact timeline will rely on the exact type of virus that causes the symptoms. Some can take up to 10 days to begin after infection and may last up to 14 days.

Meanwhile, food poisoning is more typical compared to stomach bugs. It is approximated that around 48 people are experiencing food poisoning every year.

Common forms of food poisoning are not deadly. In addition, one form identified as botulism can be deadly if people are not properly treated.

Moreover, the microbe known as Clostridium botulinum is causing botulism. It generates toxins that affect the nervous system.

Botulism, on the other hand, can cause blurred vision, slurred speech, drooping eyelids, as well as other neuromuscular symptoms.
