The allure of making big money is not always enough to push a person into a job, as people are more concerned about the nature of jobs today than they have ever been before. This perfectly describes the reluctance of people to opt for the little-known job of chicken-sex-finder, regardless of the fact that it pays sixty thousand dollars a year.

Though It comes with attractive package, people are increasingly finding this job and others like it, such as "flavor developer" and "tea-taster," as disgraceful in nature. Just a few year back, jobs of these kinds were the perfect ones to get hitched too but an increasing aversion is on rise in UK. This has led to a shortage of competent people who can identify sex of chicks.

Identifying the sex of chicken is necessary for providing them with requisite nutrition. Both male and female chicks have different roles to play. Male chicks provide for the meat while female chicks lay eggs. Hence, on meat farms female chicks are not given particular attention whereas on egg farms, special diet is provided for female chicks to keep them in a fit and healthy state.  Males, on the other hand, are sometimes intentionally killed or left to starve off.

That's why sex identification of chick is an important task.  There are two methods of identifying the sex of chick; vent sexing and feather sexing. While the former is intrusive and requires detailed and expert examination of chicks' ends, the latter is less intrusive and requires a deft examination of feather shape and size.

The question arises, why is there a dearth of people not fawning over such an attractive paying job? The reason is the monotonous tone of the job, considering the several hundreds chicks one has to examine to every single hour. The job requires patience, hours of standing, and concentration. One has to deal with thousands of chicken over and over again and there are no prospects of anticipation and excitement.

What about you? Is being a chick-sex-finder something you could see yourself doing?
