Valdir Segato, the Brazilian bodybuilder and TikTok celebrity who gained 1.6 million followers by injecting himself with a life-threatening oil to develop 23-inch biceps, died in Ribeirao Preto on his 55th birthday.

Segato, originally from Sao Paulo, had been using Synthol injections for years despite endangering strokes and infections to develop "hulking biceps, pectorals, and back muscles," a Mail Online report specified.

The man said before that he was inspired by Arnold Schwarzenegger's physiques and fictional characters like The Hulk, and described how proud he was to be known on the streets and called "the monster."

Six years ago, Seato was warned he faced amputation, or at the very least muscle disfigurement or nerve damage if he carried on with the injection to bulk himself out.

However, this former construction worker said he liked the injection's attention and wanted to get even more significant.

In 2016, Seato said people would call her Hulk, Schwarzenegger, and He-Man all the time, and he liked it. He had also doubted his biceps, although he wanted to get bigger, as earlier mentioned.

Proudly, he also posted images and videos on social media, specifically on Instagram, calling himself "Valdir Synthol."

Nonetheless, according to local media, he had few friends or visitors by the time he died. He spent an isolated life despite his huge following on social media as a result of his uploaded videos through the years.

Synthol Injections

According to Healthline, Synthol is 85 percent medium-chain triglyceride or MCT oil, "7.5 percent lidocaine, and 7.5 percent alcohol."

Lidocaine is a painkiller, while alcohol helps sterilize the mixtures and lessens the danger of microbial infections.

On the other hand, MCTs, which comprise some health benefits, are typically present in coconut and palm oil.

When Used for the growth of muscles, Synthol is placed in a syringe and injected deep into the target muscle. Once it's inside the muscle fibers, MCT, the active ingredient of Synthol, begins to expand.

For Muscle Size Enhancement

Synthol is different from anabolic steroids, also used by some bodybuilders to enhance muscle size. Anabolic steroids have a "legitimate medical purpose" to help treat hormonal imbalances or conditions like cancer that can result in muscle loss.

Synthol doesn't have such medical value. As it expands muscle tissue, it does not enhance muscle strength. Synthol is usually injected into the biceps, deltoids, triceps, and calf muscles.

Bodybuilders may try Synthol before competition due to the almost immediate effects. Nonetheless, these injections frequently cause muscles to appear deformed and unnaturally formed, according to a study abstract published on PubMed.gov.

In the case of Segato, at the time, his doctor would tell him to stop using Synthol; the advice they gave him was to stop the injection. However, he said he decided to use it because he wanted to.
