According to the recent reports from the Bloomberg and The Wall Street Journal, Apple will now be focusing on manufacturing the rumored "iPad Pro" tablet series and chances are that it might stop manufacturing the iPad Mini's.

Due to the recent delays with the supply of display panels, Apple will be pushing the manufacturing of iPad Pro series to September of this year. Apple had initially planned to kick of the production of the largest iPad in the first quarter of this year.

If the tech giant is able to stick to its new schedule, we might be able to see some announcements sometime in October or in the weeks thereafter. But again, if the display issues still remain consistent, then it might constrain the supply.

According to The Wall Street Journal, Apple is working on adding a couple of features to the new iPad such as a range of ports that would be able to support a mouse and a keyboard, so the iPad could be used as a laptop-tablet hybrid (like the Windows Surface Pro). Also a USB 3.0 port to speed up the data transfer.

Recent rumors also suggest that Apple is also working on to modify the charging technology to get around the iPad's longer charging time.

However, there has been persistent rumors about the 12.9 inch iPad Pro display, and many even expect the tablet to be fitting in a slot between the tablets and the Apple's MacBook series with more powerful hardware and productivity-focused refinements like improved multitasking.

But we all know that Apple has never confirmed such a product. The introduction of it could help boost the current iPad sales which has been on a decline for over a year.

Tim Cook, Apple's CEO recently said "The upgrade cycle is longer. It's longer than an iPhone, probably between an iPhone and a PC. We haven't been in the business long enough to say that with certainty, but that's what we think."
