Considered the most destructive, inhumane, and indiscriminate weapons ever created, nuclear weapons are devastating and uniquely persistent in possible radioactive damage fallout compared to other weapons, according to the International Campaign to Abolish Nuclear Weapons (ICAN).

A sole nuclear bomb can be washed out over a large city and kill millions of individuals within the explosion's radius. Using tens or hundreds of these bombs would disrupt a worldwide climate, leading to widespread famine.

With 19.3 million subscribers, the YouTube channel 'Kurzgesagt - In a Nutshell' called the attention of scientists to predict the possible effect of all nuclear weapons exploding simultaneously.

The channel received numerous suggestions to produce a video showing the possible effect if all nuclear weapons detonated simultaneously.

Few things are quite terrifying to comprehend than the prospect of the full-scale Nuclear War. It is hard to imagine that in the modern day, around 15,000 nuclear weapons are actively recorded on earth, according to the report of Daily Star UK.

The Possible Impact of All Nuclear

ExplosionThe channel then did its best to collect the possible answer, calling on various scientists to serve the result on a silver platter - and the outcome is not for the faint-hearted.

According to the channel's data, of the 15,000 nuclear weapons on the planet, the United States and Russia hold the biggest share of around 7,000 weapons each. The remaining thousand are shared between the United Kingdom, China, North Korea, France, Israel, India, and Pakistan.

Kurzgesagt suggested that it would take three nuclear weapons to wipe out a whole city or 13,500 nuclear warheads to devastate all of the 4,500 cities on the planet. Furthermore, half of the global human population, roughly 3 billion people, will be wiped out in an instant, while 1,500 weapons would still be active.

The channel configured how the explosion would look if all the weapons were placed in one region of Earth. It claims that it can create a fireball 31 miles wide. A single blast would have even further-reaching consequences, exterminating everything in its wake for more than 1,865 miles.

Further Possible Damage

Based on one of the ICAN's reports, the weapon produces ionizing radiation that can sicken or kill those exposed and have a long-term health effect that may lead to cancer and genetic damage.

It can also contaminate the environment, resulting in flattened forests and worst wildfires. Aside from the damage caused by the explosion, the pressure waves from the nuclear weapon would circle the planet tens of times over the following weeks.

Kurzgesagt's findings were based on the 1883 eruption of Mount Krakatoa. They added that 15,000 nuclear warheads could contain 3 billion tons of TNT explosive, which is 15 times more devastating than the caldera in Indonesia.

Making things worse, millions of the debris will be spread and shattered within the earth's atmosphere due to the possible high mushroom cloud of smoke that can touch the earth's outer edge, pushing the boundaries into space.

In the latter part, the amount of intensive radioactive material will have a worldwide tour that can destroy living beings rapidly while making a big portion of land uninhabitable.

The sources of all the bomb videos on the channel are a collaboration of written works such as research, statistics, and reports. The people who mostly shared their findings in the video were astrophysicists, researchers, doctors, and anonymous contributors.
