The 32-year-old Dorion Nowell @DorionNowell of Twitter wrote on Nov.17 that he detected disturbing symptoms days following the appointment and recommended those obtaining chiropractic therapies to rethink.

Internet users were divided when one guy claimed to have experienced a life-threatening situation that landed him in the hospital for an entire week after making a recent visit to a chiropractor.

In the tweet, Nowell said to never let a chiropractor adjust one's neck and cervical region if people ever use one. Nowell added that he had a stroke that week due to a chiropractic injury. He was finally released after a week in ICU and wearing a feeding tube.

In a later tweet, he wrote, he attended the adjustments on Monday and suffered the stroke last Thursday evening. The first sign Nowell noticed was that he fell out of balance, and he described it as a bad intoxicated sensation that he couldn't shake. Nowell's first tweet has received approximately 12,000 retweets and has been liked over 52,000 times.

Chiropractic Pain Relieving Session

Chiropractic therapy is common throughout the United States, with over 70,000 certified chiropractors including high rates of effective pain management. As per data released by the population health portal The Good Body, 35 million Americans consult a chiropractor each year, with over 1 million chiropractic adjustments conducted each day.

Even though 77% of chiropractic patients consider their care as "very successful," according to The Good Body, there is a risk of damage involved with spine manipulation, despite the possibility of pain alleviation.

Chiropractic therapy, as said by Dr. Jessica Shepherd, chief medical officer at Verywell Health, can be especially effective for athletes, individuals suffering from chronic neck and back discomfort, and those displaying scoliosis symptoms.

She also mentioned that some pre-existing conditions might increase the risk of damage and that in some cases, alternative therapy may be less hazardous and more effective.

Chiropractic risks are extremely rare, but they might include stroke or aggravation of herniated disks, Shepherd stated. Stroke caused by chiropractic therapy is exceedingly rare, yet it does exist. Such strokes are usually manifested by vertebral artery dissections, which are tiny tears in the human vertebral artery, which run down the back of the neck and deliver blood to the spine and brain.

Cracking Thoughts on Chiropractic

Shepherd said that if an individual is at risk for cardiovascular disease or suffers from other underlying issues, it may be advisable to seek other alternative treatments rather than chiropractic therapy.

In terms of medical experts' perceptions, Shepherd stated that, while safety concerns have developed, chiropractic therapy has become a need for patients suffering from back pain. Chiropractic treatments, in the context of escalating healthcare expenses, are a reasonably effective and affordable treatment for increasingly frequent conditions such as back pain, Shepherd added. However, some argue that greater data on chiropractic care's efficacy is still needed to support its scientific claims.

Those ideas, as well as the established success of chiropractic therapy, were highlighted often in responses to Nowell's narrative of his encounter, with People on Twitter on both sides burrowing in their heels. Account name @GlennCoco4Real lamented that it caused people to lose out on Chiropractic miracles. Research stated that chiropractic treatment has no more chance of causing a stroke than sitting on the sofa, as per Good Word News.

While another user @NWterror interrupted to remind everyone that chiropractors are not medical doctors. They're scarcely distinguishable from a massage therapist, and they're not healthcare practitioners. It is a service rather than
