Nowadays, more and more people feel uncomfortable with their bodies and compare themselves with the aesthetic ideals presented by the media. To address their visual discontent with their bodies and sexual attributes, these people undergo cosmetic surgery on different parts of their bodies.
The American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery reported that cosmetic procedures increased by 446% since 1997 and an overall rise of 8% in 2007. Men seem to gain interest in such systems, as an increase of 17% was reported among males.
The Next Trend in Male Grooming
It is very frequent to talk about a man's scrotal appearance and its effect on his image as a sexual partner. However, the Penningtons Manches Cooper law firm reports that scrotal lift is the latest trend in cosmetic surgery, especially for men over 50.
In a study conducted by researchers from Medical School Hamburg in Germany, more than 600 men and women were compared regarding their idea of a "beautiful scrotum." The goal of this research is to assist people in analyzing their visual preferences and in making decisions before undergoing cosmetic surgery.
About 374 women with an average age of 24.9 years and 279 men with an average age of 26.8 years were included in the assessment. The participants were asked about their porn-watching habits, sexual activities, and their view on the attractiveness of their partner's genitals. Afterward, each participant was shown 36 frontal photographs of four different kinds of scrotum.
The result of the study published by the Journal of Cosmetic Dermatology reveals that people, in general, do not like to view pictures of scrotums. Using the sliding scale in rating the photographs, almost none of the images shown was rated attractive, with most values reported in the negative range. The variables in personality traits such as age, extraversion, and pornography consumption also do not seem to affect the participants' evaluation of the aesthetic scrotum.
This outcome poses a question about scrotum tightening becoming the new trend in the aesthetic surgery industry. According to Dilara Bahceci, the Head of Communications for psychedelic biotech business Psylo, scrotum tightening is the "new unnecessary cosmetic surgery."

What is Scrotal Tightening?
Scrotal tightening is when a doctor surgically removes the skin and soft tissue from the ball sac. Also known as scrotal lift or scrotoplasty, this process is primarily done for aesthetic purposes.
This procedure involves elevating the scrotal skin and reapproximating the underlying muscles to hold the testicles effectively. Sometimes a graft is used to strengthen the muscles, followed by the removal of the excess skin. After the procedure, the scrotum will have its normal size and shape.
The scrotal lift might be unnecessary, but it can be recommended for some reasons. In some men, loose and hanging scrotum brings discomfort due to friction. Those who suffer from this condition usually complain of pain during physical activities and when wearing tight clothing. These discomforts are significantly reduced by tightening scrotum tissues, and some men may regain their confidence.
