There have been official Cybertruck-themed products released in the market before the actual vehicle was launched by Tesla, and cutlery can now be added to the list.

New EV Accessory Item

Tesla's business arm in China has partnered with McDonald's to produce 50,000 limited-edition Cyber Spoons. The product is a way to eat McDonald's food items using a utensil designed from the automaker's all-electric pickup. The promotion was announced on Tesla's official Weibo account and McDonald's Xiaohongshu account in China.

The spoon, which features the angular design of the Cybertruck, has a silver finish and reportedly costs 30 yuan ($4). Each scoop has its storage tube with the phrase "powered by Tesla'' stamped on the end. It also says "DON'T PANIC '' in reference to the book "The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy '' by Douglas Adams, Elon Musk's favorite philosopher. Cybertruck-themed McFLurry packaging was also made by McDonald's in China as part of the promotion.

Tesla China is known for releasing unusual Tesla-themed products before the actual Cybertruck is released. Last month, it promoted a cardboard cat nest inspired by the famous electronic vehicle. It has also introduced a Cybervault charging box in the region.

Although the automaker plans to sell this accessory only in China, it also launched other unusual products on its US-based website. These include a Tesla logo branding iron, a desktop "Supercharger" cable organizer, and Teslaquilla worth $250 per bottle.

Tesla CEO Elon Musk had no idea about this partnership between his company and the fast food chain. On September 6, Tesla investor Sawyer Merritt spotted the announcement and shared the news on X. Musk denied that the Cyber Spoon was real, even calling it "fake news." However, Merritt told Musk that Tesla's official social media accounts in China have been promoting its collaboration with McDonald's. The fast food chain has also started to announce the Cyber Spoon in its social media accounts.

Cybertruck's Anticipated Release

Cybertruck is an upcoming battery electric full-size pickup truck to be released by Tesla, Inc. First announced in November 2019, the EV is said to have capabilities to challenge the top-selling pickup trucks.

One of the most prominent features of Cybertruck is its sharp-edged exterior design. Tesla declares that this vehicle is a better utility than a truck with more performance than a sports car.

Three models are expected to be offered by the automaker, with a single-motor rear-wheel drive model that will serve as the entry point. It also boasts its more powerful tri-motor version with all-wheel drive at the top of the range. Having that top powertrain, Tesla claims that the Cybertruck can tow up to 14,000 pounds (6,350 kg)and EPA range estimates of 250-500 miles (400-800 km), depending on the model.

The company has delayed the vehicle's production timeline several times. In April 2022, Elon Musk announced it would be coming and out in 2023. At this point, Tesla supporters expect it to be in late 2023 or early 2024.
