Pros and Cons of the Samsung Galaxy Tab S:

The Samsung Galaxy Tab S comes in variants of 8.4 and 10.5 inches. Both devices have amazingly sharp and balanced 2560 x 1600 Super AMOLED displays and are very sleek and light-weight. In spite of the size, they are well suited for one-handed operation.

There is a lag if the processor is taking on a full load. Tab S does not have a stylus and lacks dust and water protection. It is quite an expensive purchase.

Pros and Cons of the Samsung Galaxy Tab Pro:

The Samsung Galaxy Tab Pro comes in variants of 8.4, 10.1 and 12.2 inches. An impressive screen resolution of 2,560 x 1,600 is uniform across the three variants. Performance is fast with Android 4.4.2, KitKat and the tablets are extremely thin and light-weight.

On the downside, they are quite expensive. The speakers are easily blocked during use and there is some performance lag on full load.

Specs:

The Galaxy Tab S 8.4 and 10.5 models run on Samsung Exynos 5 Octa processors. They have 3 GB RAM and 16/32 GB storage expandable up to 128 GB. The two variants have screen sizes of 8.4 and 10.5 inches with 2560 x 1600 Super AMOLED Panel. They have 8 MP, 3264 x 2448 pixels primary cameras and 2.1 MP secondary cameras. The Tab S comes in "dazzling white" and "titanium bronze".

The Samsung Galaxy Tab Pro 8.4, 10.1 and 12.2 models feature Android OS, v4.4 (KitKat). They have super clear WQXGA (1600 x 2560) displays. The 8" variant runs on Snapdragon 800 with 2 GB RAM; the 10" and 12" variants run on Exynos Octa 5420 with 2 GB and 3 GB RAM respectively. All models sport 8 MP primary cameras with LED flash and 2 MP secondary cameras. They are available in black and white.

Talking Points:

After the Galaxy S series and Note series, Samsung has now released the Android 5.0.2 Lollipop update for its Galaxy tablets, which released in mid-2014. The Galaxy Tab S 10.5 Wi-Fi model has been the first to receive the update, starting with users in France. The Lollipop update would bring security related fixes for the Galaxy Tab S.

While the Tab Pro is indeed feature-packed, it is undeniably on the higher end. The crowded Android tablet market has abundant choices for customers and similar specs being available at lower prices makes the Tab Pro lose its appeal with more budget-conscious customers.

Conclusion:

Although on the expensive side, the beautiful Tab S 8.4 seems more attractive with its superior aesthetics, display, audio and battery life. Also, the fingerprint sensor is integrated with PayPal for convenient online payments.
