Robotic Mixmaster Moodie Serves Cocktails Based on One's Mood

A new robot, a robotic bartender, was unveiled at the CES 2024. The robot uses artificial intelligence (AI) to detect the person's mood and serve them a drink based on their emotional state.

Doosan Robotics presented its Mixmaster Moodie, which employs artificial rubber muscles to serve consumers a beverage depending on visual and acoustic cues. Visitors to Moodie's booth at CES were asked to stand in front of a screen that used artificial intelligence (AI) to detect their facial expressions and customize drinks according to their mood.

Visitors to the Doosan exhibit were asked to identify their feelings from a list of seven -- joyful, sad, angry, frustrated, terrified, astonished, and neutral.

Moodie analyzes a person's photo to determine their mood based on a Logitech webcam diagnosis. Selecting the "Generate Cocktail Recipe" option will prompt Moodie to construct one of 24 pre-programmed ChatGPT-designed drinks based on the person's feelings.

A second robot tops off the drink with a garnish and presents it to the customer after the bot carefully shakes the contents to create the ideal alcoholic or non-alcoholic beverage.

According to William Ryu, CEO of Doosan Robotics, the company "hopes to reduce the monotonous, unpleasant, and dangerous duties commonly found in repetitive work by mixing robotics with human engagement."

The company went on to say that robots like Moodie will help to increase productivity by reducing the chance of accidents and improving worker safety.

"Deploying Doosan's Mixmaster Moodie in high-traffic areas ensures round-the-clock operations, enabling employees to concentrate on nuanced tasks beyond robotics' capabilities, ultimately creating a more fulfilling job experience," Doosan said.

With its AI cobots, Doosan hopes to revolutionize daily life and work. The company aims to transform various industries by deploying its robots in various departments like manufacturing, logistics, food and beverage, architecture, film, service industries, and healthcare.

Lawnmower and Pool Cleaner Robots

Aiper also introduced several robots at the CES, the annual event for the most powerful tech in the industry. Aiper presents HorizonUI, a cordless robot that can mow your lawn.

The Horizon U1 is stylish, portable, cordless, and lightweight. Above all, it's made to cut grass mechanically in yards up to 32,000 square feet. With Horizon U1, maintaining your lawn has never been easy.

The company also brings five more robots in its Scuba series designed to clean pools. The robots have varying cleaning capacities depending on the swimming pools' sizes and location, whether above-ground or below-ground. One may clean a pool of debris, hair, dirt, sand, insects, green algae, bacteria, and other particulates.

The company's flagship pool cleaner, the Scuba S1 ($699.99), has been chosen as a CES 2024 Innovation Award Honoree. The apparatus can fully clean 1,600 square feet of in-ground pools in 2.5 hours. Caterpillar treads provide better traction and superior obstacle traversal.

The Scuba S1 Pro ($1,199.99) shares the same features as the Scuba S1, including two ultra-fine filters, caterpillar treads, and WavePath Navigation Technology 2.0. The pro version can maneuver around obstacles better due to the additional sensors.
