Tesla has received many complaints about Cybertruck, including its frunk and the "deathtrap" feature. However, Elon Musk's automotive company has since addressed and fixed the issue. Now, one user has shared whether the software update really resolved the issue.

Cybertruck Owner Nearly Cuts Finger While Testing The Frunk

Jeremy Judkins was excited to test Cybertruck's frunk after Tesla announced that it did a software update to help detect when an object is in the way of the hatch closing.

Tesla made the fix after several consumers complained that it continued to close even if something was in the way. They raised concerns that it could potentially cut off one's finger.

Judkins put to test the update and shared the video on TikTok. He started the experiment by placing a banana; the frunk didn't close or destroy the fruit. Second, he put a carrot, and it cut the tip of the vegetable.

Judkins knew the public wanted to see if it could injure the finger. However, before he tested the finger, he decided to place a more significant object first—his arm. According to him, it was "very easy." He sensed a little bit of pressure, but "nothing too bad."

Next, he placed his hand and admitted it was "a little bit scarier." The frunk didn't close, but he sensed "some pressure." He even showed the line it left on his hand.

Finally, Judkins placed one finger to see what would happen. To his surprise, the frunk closed, and he was left trying to pull out his finger.

"I feared for my finger for a second, not gonna lie," he admitted.

As shown in the video, the experiment visibly left him in pain as his finger shook. It also left a visible dent on his finger.

Judkins said he was a bit "freaked out" because when it closed, he didn't know how to open it up, and he felt kind of "trapped" because his finger was stuck. He was lucky that the Cybertruck detected "resistance" and eventually opened up.

"While the new Cybertruck update does protect your banana, your finger is still at risk. They have some work to do," he concluded in the video.

Cybertruck Other Issue

Aside from the deathtrap complaints, some users also reported a problem with the brake pedal. It reportedly gets stuck and prompts the car to speed up.

According to Cristina Balan, an engineer who previously worked at Tesla, the issue could be related to a gas and brake pedal safety concern on Model S, which she already raised a decade ago.

According to her, things got worse. She knows several individuals still working at Tesla who allegedly informed her of "some serious safety issues."

In social media videos, the pedal cover of a brand-new Cybertruck can slide off the accelerator and become tangled in the carpet, locking it in place and causing the vehicle to accelerate to its top speed. The new owners dubbed this problem a "deathtrap."
