The Chinese Tech giant ZTE created its own version in the 5.5" market of smartphone, the ZTE Axon. It has an aluminum design finish at a fraction of the price of the iPhone and Androids.

The ZTE Axon is a much lesser priced phablet in the market with flagship enhanced features. However, its design is not far from the likes of Apple, HTC and Samsung. The phone itself is coated in aluminum that makes it feel more solid and premium. Its design flaunts a gold color fringe around the buttons on the frame and the camera lenses in the back. The choices of colors vary from chromium silver to blue.

One of the noticeable features of the device is its dual lens 13 megapixel + 2 megapixel rear facing shooter integrated in the BSI CMOS sensor with dual led flash. The dual lens camera allows its user to refocus an object even after the capturing of images. It records in 4K resolution, and the front-facing camera has a smile-activated feature.

The ZTE Axon is 4G LTE guaranteed, and its audio is powered by Hi-Fi audio playback technology with a 3000 mAh non-removable battery, which can deliver up to 12 hours of talk time and 240 hours on standby in just a single charging.

It runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop with added ZTE Axon features, 5.5-inch QHD screen at 1440 x 2560 pixels in Corning Gorilla glass 3, 3000 mAh battery, 1.5 GHz 64-bit octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 clocked at 2 Ghz, with Adreno 430 GPU 32 GB internal storage, 4 GB of RAM, and sports a 13 megapixel and a front facing 8 mega pixel shooter.

The ZTE Axon is priced at $449 (unlocked) up front, which is lower than most high-end flagship phones offered by Apple, HTC and Samsung.
