A couple of months ago HTC announced that their latest product, the HTC Vive VR headset will be released by the end of the year. However, on Dec. 8, 2015 the company declared that it is postponed and will release the said item in April 2016 instead.

The HTC Vive VR Headset is a product in the collaboration of the top two leading gaming platforms, HTC and Valve. It is a head mounted device that displays a high-quality virtual reality. During the Mobile World Congress held on March 1, 2015, HTC officially announced the arrival of Vive. Prior to its supposedly worldwide release, a 'Developer's Edition' was already made available for selected users and reviewers.

The Developer's Edition of Vive uses a pair of 1200 x 1080 displays that refresh at 90 frames per second. It also erases unwanted jitters and achieves a 'photorealistic imagery' displays that are said to cover one's entire vision with 360 degree views. According to HTC's development team, the Vive is the first product to offer a full-room-scale experience. It lets you get up, walk around the virtual environment and interact with it.

During the Dec. 8 press release, HTC announced the main reason for the postponement of the product. In a blog post, they said that the company is very committed in the development of Vive that it is going to need more time to make sure that once it gets out to the consumers, they will be more than satisfied.

HTC added that during the 4 months' time allowance before their newly set release, the company will be working with Valve and various other companies to spark innovations in the fields of gaming, entertainment, medical and education.

The company also promised that once the year of 2016 starts, it will be making an additional 7,000 units to cater those customers who want to get their hands on the new HTC Vive VR headset.
