Google recently updated its map application for iOS users. A part of this update is an offline feature that allows them to navigate without having to use data connection.

The company Google surprised the iOS users with its recent update on Google Maps. This time, it developed an offline feature that allows the users to navigate through the map even without the use of Wi-Fi or Internet. Before, the Google Maps app only allowed its users to view sections of the map offline. But in the latest update, anyone can now locate specific locations, get the correct directions and ask for the business hours of different restaurants and other establishments.

The offline feature on Google Maps has been available for Android users since last month. But this time it's the iOS users who will get the newest tool. In a recent post from IDownloadBlog, there are still parts of this world where the offline feature update is not available. However, a spokesperson for Google later assured its customers through a statement released on another site called Venturebeat stated that the company has started rolling out these features to all iOS users, but will take a few more weeks in order for them to send it to other parts of the world. It is also explained that soon the offline map navigation will allow any consumer to download a specific area of the Google Map onto the device and use it for future reference.

Before the recent update, Google Maps users can only utilize it while offline after they typed "ok maps" on the search bar. The app will then download select portions of the device.

The latest offline map navigation feature is developed to specifically cater people's need to use a map but having Internet connection issues. In line with this, another notable addition to the Google app is the feature called 'Popular Times.' This tool will help the user decide what's the best time to go to an establishment by showing all the listed hours when it is busy or not.
