The International Consumers Electronics Show week is just beginning to heat up and is surprising visitors from over 200 countries. Audophiles will surely love Sony's newly released gadgets LED light speakers and PS-HX500 turntable that will soon hit the shelves this year.

Sony launched its Glass Sound Speaker, a part of the Life Space UX lineup. Unlike the typical boombox we see, it is made of a vertical round glass tube with a LED source inside. Dubbed as the Glass Sound Speaker, it basically functions as a speaker but can be suitable as a decorative home fixture as well.

As per Sony's presentation, its latest Glass Sound Speaker is a portable and wireless tube-shaped organic glass that produces "crystal clear sound" to complement the warm glow from the LED it produces. Although no specific details were delved in, the company announced it will soon appear in the U.S. market in the first half of the fiscal year. Sony's fiscal year starts in April, which means the product will be out between then and October. Apparently, there was no mention of price yet.

Aside from serenity the classic speaker that showers with glow provides, Sony has also gone retro, looking old school in its latest PS-HX500 turntable that will surely thrill collectors and connoisseurs. The device is actually no different from other turntables available in the market today. However, its ability to do analog-to-digital conversion and flexibility will make it outstand from the rest.

The new HX500 promises to convert ancient analog files into either DSD file format or 24 bit, high-resolution WAV files. Aside from that, users can download apps that can edit those converted files. The device will soon be available later this spring.

With the introduction of these two gadgets at CES 2016, it goes to show that "Sony is dedicated to providing audiophiles and music enthusiasts alike with a wide range of hi-res audio solutions," Yamato Tanikawa, home entertainment and sound director, said.
