Fans of James Cameron's "Avatar" film should be happy to know that the theme parked based on the movie has finally set a date for its opening. While most know that it will be opening this summer, the official date for the opening of Pandora- The World of Avatar has been announced as May 27 of this year.

Bob Igers, Disney CEO announced the news. He also made the exciting announcement that Star Wars Land will open in two years time at Disney's Hollywood Studios in Florida and Disneyland in California.

Digital Spy reports that some of the attractions that will be found in the theme park based on "Star Wars" will include a chance to fly the ever-famous Millennium Falcon. There will also be a battle scene between the Resistance and the First Order.

Theme park goers will also be served by droids in the Cantina. Gizmodo points out that the opening of the theme park coincides with the release of "Star Wars Episode IX."

Meanwhile, Pandora- The World of Avatar will feature very unique designs and architecture. The aim of the theme park is to really transport whoever will go there to the world of Pandora. Disney executives believe that there will be much interest in the park in the coming days, especially with the news that there will be four sequels to the 2009 hit science - fiction movie.

Guests will be able to fly over the floating mountains and also traverse the Na'vi River. There will also be the iconic bioluminescent forest that wowed the audience in the movie.

"Avatar" director James Cameron and producer Jon Landau were very much involved in the construction of the theme park. Cameron has commented on how unbelievable it was that the world he just imagined in 1995 was made real in Pandora - The World of Avatar.
