Both Honda and its sister company Acura will reportedly debut two new car models at the upcoming 2014 Los Angeles Auto Show. Honda will unveil its new HR-V compact crossover vehicle, while Acura will introduce its 2016 version of its ILX sedan for the first time.

ACURA ILX

Acura's ILX is branded as an entry-level sedan and will make its debut on Nov. 20 and is supposed to be a "substantially new" version, according to Acura. The ILX was originally introduced two years ago, and sales up to this point have been a disappointment. Acura reportedly sold 20,430 models sold last year, and so far in 2014 things have gotten worse--approximately 16% worse.

The 2016 ILX is an attempt to turn things around. Some of the new tweaks include an upgraded drive-train as well as a redesigned interior and exterior. It's also rumored that Acura will include the TLX's eight-speed dual clutch automatic transmission in combination with the ILX's existing four-cylinder engine.

Up to this point, Acura hasn't released much info about the new ILX. The only image released (pictured above) is very dark and leaves much to the imagination, but the car is expected to have noticeable refinements to its overall design.

HONDA HR-V

Honda's HR-V is meant as an entry-level model into its crossover lineup, and one that features the popular CR-V as well. Details are scant on the HR-V, but expect something similar to the Fit's 130-horsepower, four-cylinder power plant under the hood. The HR-V is also expected to have the same 'Magic Seat' feature as the Fit, which gives users a lot of options for rearranging the seat layout for better comfort and storage depending on the situation.

Official pricing info has not yet been released by Honda, but expect the HR-V be near the Fit's $16,315 to $21,590 price range. The HR-V will make its offical debut on November 19.

L.A. AUTO SHOW

Both models will be announced at the L.A. Auto Show, which runs next month between November 21 - 30, 2014. And the ILX and HR-V won't be the only models debuting either; there will be a reported 25 world debuts in all during November's show, so stay tuned for more coverage.
