Amazon is planning to extend their delivery areas up to the moon, CEO Jeff Bezos Finally announced in a report. Bezos who is also the owner of a private space agency named Blue Origin has written in his post that a good delivery service is necessary of future Lunar colonization.

According to the report by The Washington Post, Blue Origin and Amazon jointly passed a “proprietary and confidential” white paper to NASA urging them to back an Amazon-like shipment service for the moon by 2020. This report also includes the description of the Blue Moon vehicle which will be able to carry more than 10,000 Pounds of cargo to the moon. Bezos compared this Earth-to-Moon shipping service with the Amazon prime shipment which will also cover the polar regions.

The owner of both Blue Origin and Amazon, Jeff Bezos said in an email,“A permanently inhabited lunar settlement is a difficult and worthy objective. I sense a lot of people are excited about this”. both NASA and Trump’s transition teams were reported to get a headstart for upcoming lunar shipping projects.

The Verge reported that Elon Musk who is the owner of SpaceX has already announced that he is planning to send space tourist around the Moon but Bezos’s plan is quite different. Instead of sending people he is focusing on delivering various equipment, medicines and other gears for those people who will become the future citizen of Moon.

Bezos proposed about his mission on January 4, as NASA already demonstrated their openness to working with commercial companies. Although, SpaceX already get several contracts to fly into space. So, there have some great possibilities for Blue Origin to offer something new. Over the last couple of years, Blue Origin already tested their Shepard rocket five times and it was able to launch and Land successfully. For the 2020 mission Blue Moon lander will take place but Bezos didn’t make any major changes in the landing technology.
