CES 2024 is full of various tech innovations. One particular technology is an AI-powered vertical infrared oven that can grill steak and sizzle meat.

Perfecta: AI-Controlled Toaster That Can Sear Steak

The novel toaster Perfecta, unveiled during CES 2023, was only conducting cooking programs with dummy meat. However, the physics behind the novel innovation claims that the toaster is capable of searing steak.

Seergrills, a UK company, is the one behind the novel innovation. The startup comprises various product developers and engineers.

When one has a pricey piece of meat, such as ribeye, a toaster is not the typical cooking equipment that comes to mind. As for Perfecta, it is not exactly a meat toaster. However, it is designed to be like a toaster and is marketed as a grill.

According to the company, the novel and futuristic grill is similar to a see-through countertop oven that can cook food ten times faster compared to typical cooking methods.

How the AI Toaster Works

The grill is capable of cooking steak, fish, chicken, and other meats vertically. On both of its sides are AI-controlled and strong infrared burners. These are added so that the meat is exposed to even heat on both of its sides.

According to the founder of Seer Grill, the meat gets cooked extremely fast. The juices also do not have the time to get away prior to getting locked inside the seared coating.

When one is finished loading a chop or filet vertically into the cage, and once a proper cooking cycle is engaged, the infrared burners close in from either side with intense temperatures. These levels could reach more than 1,000 degrees Fahrenheit. With this, the grill finishes searing thick chops and steaks in less than two minutes.

The grill also gets smarter as time passes, thanks to AI automation coupled with feedback gathered through various cooking sessions.

For cooking carbier dishes, the middle cage of the toaster can be dismantled. This can be replaced with a pizza peel for cooking pies horizontally. The time it takes for this to be done is less than the time it takes to place an order at Domino's.

As to whether Perfecta is able to meet all its claims, this remains a mystery. The grill is expected to roll out during 2024's second half. It will be available at a whopping price of $3,500. However, for those who preorder before January 15, a $1,000 discount can be availed of.
