Rodrigo Alves was popularly known as the "Human Ken Doll" has revealed that he is experiencing the adverse effects brought by the different surgeries he underwent. After undergoing eight nose jobs, Alves admitted that he started to have a problem in breathing.

According to the Beauty Section of Yahoo, the real "Human Ken Doll" recently appeared on a talk show revealing his health condition. He said that in July of 2016, his nose had undergone a surgery in order to correct his breathing problems. A piece of his cartilage was used to reconstruct his nose however, he cannot still breathe hundred percent.

"Human Ken Doll" was able to achieve his almost perfect appearance by undergoing 50 procedures that cost nearly $500,000. The procedure that was conducted includes; a six-pack implant, stem cell injection in face and hair, and the recent reconstructive surgery he has just undergone. He also added that he was able to afford the high cost by using his inheritance from his grandparents.

Alves described the continuous surgeries he had undergone as a "domino effect". Daily News Entertainment reported that it was never Alves' intention to look like a "Human Ken Doll" and personally he doesn't believe that he looks like a doll.

Tracking back in the year 2015, "Human Ken Doll" was diagnosed with Body Dysmorphic Disorder (BDD). BDD is a type of mental disorder wherein a person becomes unsatisfied and become obsessed with his own perception "flaws" of his body. The common symptom of this mental disorder is the person tends to correct his perceived body's flaw through plastic surgery. Although Alves has been receiving the treatment he has not stopped from undergoing surgeries.

Aside from his breathing problems, in April 2016, he was actually rushed to the hospital due to necrosis. The necrosis resulted from his recent nose job at that time wherein because of lack of blood supply, the cells and tissues start to degenerate and die. Everyone's opinion regarding physical perception is different so that one can undergo surgery and others just contend with their natural appearance.
