The flightless cute birds have gathered in Argentina to feast on small fish. One type of penguins, the Magellanic, also known as South American penguins have come together to eat different seafood in the place.

There were more than 1 million of Magellanic penguins in Punta Tombo, Argentina feasting on small fish, according to India Today. This event happens every year. It is part of the Magellanic penguins' migratory pattern. Many locals are enjoying the view of the colony of penguins eating the fish in the peninsula. Hundreds and thousands of people are always going to Argentina just to see the spectacular view. In this time of year, there is an abundance of fish in Punta Tombo, Argentina.

This year, the highest number of the Magellanic penguins was recorded, local officials said. Independent has reported that the peninsula's shorelines have abundant sardines and anchovies that eat Magellanic penguins eat. Every September to October, these penguins come to the same place to mate and then female penguins will give birth to the eggs. They will stay to protect and hatch the eggs. From March to September, these penguins come from as far as Brazil just to go here.

Scientists are advising tourist to come every November so that the baby penguins are born already. However, the baby Magellanic penguins might be stressed due to people watching, scientists added. The Magellanic penguins are about 50 centimeters or 20 inches tall. They have a unique small area of pink flesh on the face. The Magellanic penguins' large semi-circular white feathers that expand from the eyebrow to the chin are what make them identifiable.

Even though Magellanic penguins are coming in large numbers to Argentina and Chile every year, it is reported to be one of the threatened species due to climate change. Another reason is oil spills and decreased of fish in the oceans. The penguins have to travel farther just to eat and hunt for their food which is bad.
